Auggie is a character in a book called Wonder. Auggie has an eye lower than the other one and one ear shorter than the other one. He has a clef palate. His cheeks are not puffed out and have a misplaced jaw. Auggie wants to look normal and doesn’t want people to look at him.
Auggie is influenced by his family, Mr. Tushman, Jack Will, and Summer. He influenced a lot people at his school by teaching them not to judge a person by their face. He also teaches people to be kinder than necessary. The people that influenced him teach him not to care about what his face looks like and not to care what people think of him.
Auggie relates to a lot of the themes because a lot of things happen to him. He connects to the theme friendship is important because he gets kind of saved by his friends. He taught people hoe to be kinder than necessary. Auggie relates to don’t judge a book by its cover because a lot of people bully him but what was important was that he was being himself.
I chose this picture for Auggie because his face is messed up and I thought that because splattered paint was everywhere that this representation of splattered paint would be good for the character of Auggie in Wonder.
